One of the most common questions I am often asked as an Anchor/Presenter –

“What does it take to TALK so well”

“What does it take to be a good Anchor”

And I always believe this when I say –

“Be a Good listener”

1️⃣Even while moderating a session,we all have a list of questions we want to ask , but remember when you listen right you will able to connect the answer to your next question without any difficulty.

2️⃣After the speaker finishes talking, an Anchor is entrusted with the responsibility to thank him/her. So instead of doing the plain style of simply saying – ‘THANK YOU for those insights’ ,if we listen to what the speaker shared we will be able to summarise the key points in one line.

3️⃣ In a one to one interview,you can gauge/Observe the emotion of your guest/speaker only if you listen ( Is he/she not interested in the question, in a hurry to leave, is not in a good mood, has no idea)

4️⃣This habit of listening is irrespective of an offline meeting or a zoom/webex call. It is the most applicable universal truth ever. Remember you get paid to talk because you listen well. Isn’t it !
